Elechi Dethrones 4 Traditional Rulers
Governor Martin Elechi of Ebonyi state has dethroned four traditional rulers in Ishielu local government of the state for allegedly sabotaging the efforts of government from reclaiming the Nigeria Cement Company (NIGERCEM) Nkalagu. The affected traditional rulers include; HRH Eze Mathias Nnaji of Nkalagu; HRH Eze Michael Egbo of Amaezu community; Prince Benjamin Onwa, Regent of Umuhuali community and Prince Augustine Okwor, regent of Nkalaha community.

FG hints at full deregulation
THE Federal Government may be considering the implementation of the policy of full deregulation of the downstream sector. According to Labaran Maku, who briefed State House correspondents after yesterday’s Federal Executive Council meeting, despite the criticism of the policy by some Nigerians, an overwhelming majority are satisfied that its full implementation was crucial to the up-scaling of the oil and gas sector so as to curtail corruption and develop the economy.

Police To Deploy 4,130 Men For Bayelsa Council Polls
The Bayelsa Police Command said on Thursday that it would deploy 4, 130 men to ensure a hitch-free local government elections slated for March 23 in the state. Rainstorm Destroys 50 Houses In Omu-Aran In Kwara
A heavy rainstorm has destroyed 50 houses in Omu-Aran, Kwara, on Wednesday rendering some of the residents homeless. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the heavy rain, which started some minutes after 6pm and lasted for about an hour, left some of the houses with either their roofs blown off or walls partially pulled down.
