Mallam Nasir El Rufai has reacted to the statement released yesterday by Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor-led Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, where he (El-Rufai) was accused of trying to tarnish the image of Oritsejafor (read here).

In a statement signed by his Media Adviser, Muyiwa Adekeye, Mallam El Rufai advised the CAN President to look beyond his bling and answer questions surrounding the private jet seized by SA authorities and his involvement in the controversy. Find the statement below...

NAFDAC(National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control) has decried the bogus claims that Ewedu can cure Ebola.

While revealing that over 104 brands of fake sanitisers and Ebola Test kits have been seized,with the businessmen arrested , the Director General of NAFDAC,Dr. Paul Orhi rubbished the claim by Prof Adebukola Adefule Oshitelu, a professor of Ophthalmology from the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH),that Ewedu soup could cure Ebola.

Female soldier sprayed BRT vehicles with petrol – Witness

A witness at the ongoing inquiry into the July 4 Ikorodu Road mayhem, Mr. Razak Mustapha, told the three-man panel on Wednesday that a female soldier sprayed the Bus Rapid Transit vehicles with petrol.

Some BRT vehicles were reportedly set ablaze at Palmgrove Bus Stop on July 4, 2014 during a mayhem that occupied the public place for more than three hours.

Fulani gunmen kill 32 in Kaduna

Gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen on Tuesday night raided three communities in Sanga Local Government Area in the southern part of Kaduna State, and killed about 32 villagers.

The attackers, it was learnt, also killed a soldier and injured four other soldiers in an ambush.

The Vice Chairman of Sanga Local Government Area, Mr. Bulus Mande, and National President, Ninzom Development Youths, Mr. Bezard Wuyah, confirmed the attack to newsmen on the telephone on Wednesday.

Nigerian troops this morning September 17th successfully crushed another attempt by Boko Haram members who were on a revenge mission to Konduga, in Borno State. According to a statement by Defence HQ, 3 Hilux vehicles, 1 Amoured Personnel Carrier and a cache of arms and ammunition were captured by the troops. Hundreds of the militants were said to have been killed. Troops are now combing the vicinity, in a cordon and search operation to determine the heavy casualties suffered by the terrorists in the encounter. A member of the Delta State House of Assembly, Keston Okoro, was yesterday September 16th sent out of the floor of the Assembly for improper dressing. Leadership reports that House Speaker Peter Onwunsanya gave the order after a member of the house, Daniel Mayuku raised an objection to the mode of dressing of the lawmaker, saying that his dressing fell short of the rules and regulations of the House.

Yesterday there were reports that a student of Law at Ahmadu Bello University, showed symptoms of the deadly Ebola virus, but fortunately he's tested negative to the virus.

According to Premium Times, authorities of ABU and the Kaduna State Government had sent the patient’s blood to Lagos for testing after he reportedly manifested some symptoms associated with Ebola while on admission at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital. Continue...

Woman arraigned in Lagos court for jilting lover

43-year-old events planner Omolola Shittu (pictured right), has been dragged before a Magistrate court in Lagos state for allegedly jilting and stealing from her 55 year old ex-lover, Prince Hilary Unachukwu.

According to Vabguard, Omolola, who was charged alongside one Raphael Oge, 51, on a three-count charge bothering on stealing and threat to life of her ex-lover, pleaded not guilty in court and was remanded in prison custody till she meets her bail conditions. Continue...
