An Ado-Ekiti Magistrate’s Court ordered a suspected 20-year-old rapist, identified as Oluyi Oba, to be remanded for allegedly raping a 5-year-old girl.
Mr. Emmanuel David, on behalf of the prosecution, told the court that the accused committed the offence on October 22 at 1 p.m. in Iyin-Ekiti. He further noted the offence contravened Section 218 of the Criminal Code Cap C 16, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.
The plea of the accused was not taken.
Simeon Ojo, the Chief Magistrate, ordered the accused remanded in prison custody pending the receipt of legal advice from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution.
The case has been adjourned till November 21, 2013, for hearing.
