The Benue State Police Command has detained three workers of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) accused of electrocution of a 14-year-old boy at Kastina-Ala area of the state.
According to the spokesman of the command, Daniel Ezeala, the three men are held for negligence by carelessly dropping the naked wire which caused the death of the teenager.
The boy's father said that he had sent his son, Ndubisi Abor, to his neighbour's shop and on his way he stepped on a naked wire.
He was immediately rushed to Nahuta Hospital, Kastina-Ala, from where he was referred to Nguher Hospital, where he died.
The spokesman of the command assured the journalists that investigation into the matter is in progress.
