Hotel Fires Employee Who Leaked Jay-Z and Solange Met Gala Fight Video

Uh oh, somebody’s in trouble! After releasing the now infamous Jay-Z and Solange elevator smackdown after the Met Gala, the employee responsible for the leak has been fired.

According to ABC News, The Standard Hotel says the person was officially let go for “breaching the security policies of the hotel and recording the confidential CCTV video,” and that they plan turn over “all available information to criminal authorities.”

And that’s not all. Reports say that Hollywood lawyer Marty Singer has been hired by the Standard to figure out who sold the tape — which was reportedly sold for $250,000 after “being shopped for five days to the highest bidder.”

So, um, we’re guessing whoever was responsible for that is okay with getting caught and fired, considering their recent (and unethical) windfall of cash. Unless, of course, they’re pursued for damages, which means that $250k will disappear fast… and then some.

“There are only a handful of people who’d have access to that tape,” a source said. “The Standard owns that tape … Once it was out, Jay-Z’s people felt they couldn’t control it. They were reluctant to try and publicly fight this.”

We need to know what happened in that elevator, but we’re not holding our breath. If Bey or Jay make a public statement, we will be almost as shocked as we were at that video.
