Funke Akindele Denies Launching Jenifa Perfume



The report that Funke Akindele was getting ready to launch her own perfume line called Jenifa went viral online a few weeks back. But according to the award winning actress, there's no such thing. She recently dissociated herself from the perfume line, telling Encomium magazine:

BIRTHDAY TRAGEDY: Girl RAPED, Fiance Shot In The Head

NSUKKA—Tragedy struck at the university town of Nsukka, EnuguState, weekend, as unidentified gunmen raped a young girl, who was celebrating her birthday with her lover boy, who was also shot in the head.

Vanguard gathered that the incident occurred last Saturday, when the girl’s boyfriend, identified as Sunday Ozioko, 30, took out his lover in his new Toyota Camry saloon car as part of the birthday celebration.

Lagosians spend N36billion annually on parties - Governor Fashola


Lagos state governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, this weekend revealed that more than N36 billion is spent by Lagosians annually to organise parties. The governor said this at the 4th edition of the Lagos Ignite Enterprise and Employability project, a joint youth empowerment programme between the government and the Afterschool Graduate Development Centre, AGDC.

Chief Iwuanyanwu married 26 year old Frances Chinonyerem Enwerem (pictured above with him), the daughter of one of his late wife's close friends, on Saturday September 14th (traditional wedding) and this past Saturday September 21st (white wedding) in Owerri, Imo State.

This horrible accident happened yesterday Monday Sept. 23rd along the Alaka/Costain crossover bridge in Surulere. The driver of one of the buses in the state mass transit scheme lost control of his bus and crashed into a soldier riding a motorcyle on the express. The yet-to-be identified soldier was cut almost into two by the bus. (Too graphic...but will show you just one pic).

Pregnant WOMAN KILLED, Others Injured as Enugu Building Collapses


ENUGU — A four-bedroom bungalow, built on the hilly Ologo settlement in Enugu North Local Government Area of Enugu State, collapsed Sunday night, killing a pregnant woman and injuring her husband and another tenant.

The woman, Mrs. Chinasa Chukwuka, and her husband were in their room, when part of the hill behind their house collapsed during a downpour and pulled the house down.

Tenant KILLS LANDLORD And WIFE, Sets house On FIRE

A tenant in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, allegedly set his residence ablaze, Monday, killing his landlord and landlady. The house is located at Asuquo Eyo Street in Ifa Ikot Okpon, Uyo Local Government Area of the state.

The suspect, in his mid 40s, identified simply as Ime and popularly known as Shawa, was said to have threatened to burn down the house and kill his landlord and wife if they ejected him.

2 MEN Accused of RAPING Teenage BOYS In GOMBE


Gombe State Police Command says it has arrested two persons suspected of homosexuality and another for rape. Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, Mr. Fwaje Atajiri, made this known yesterday in Gombe.

Atajiri said that a 25-year-old suspected homosexual of Dubai by-pass Gombe had, on September 15, lured a seven-year-old boy to an uncompleted building, threatened him with a knife and raped him.

Gunmen KILL 160, ABDUCT 10 Women in Zamfara

Gusau - Gov. Abdulazez Yari of Zamfara on Monday said gunmen had killed 160 people and abducted 10 married women in different villages of the state in the last three months. Yari made the disclosure when he addressed members of the House Assembly on security situation in the state in Gusau.

He said the situation had caused disaffection between residents of the affected villages and the state government.

BlackBerry Agrees to $4.7 Billion Buyout

OTTAWA (AFP) – BlackBerry announced Monday it has agreed to a $4.7 billion buyout by a consortium of investors who plan to take the struggling Canadian smartphone maker private.

The company said in a statement that it has “signed a letter of intent agreement under which a consortium to be led by Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited has offered to acquire the company subject to due diligence.”

Man RAPES Neighbour’s 8 YEAR Old Daughter


A 32-year-old driver, Muhammadu Alabi, has been arraigned before an Abule-Egba Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, on a charge of alleged rape of an eight-year-old daughter of his neighbour. The accused lives at 34, Emmanuel Aina Street, Aboru, Ipaja, Lagos. He, however, pleaded not guilty.

Herbalists ARRESTED For GANG-RAPING Housewife


A Magistrate Court in Osogbo, Osun State, has ordered that two herbalists accused of defrauding their client and raping her be remanded in prison. Magistrate Olusola Aluko gave the order because of the refusal of the suspects to appear in court for 12 times without any genuine reason.

The herbalists – Musa Sule, 32, Dauda Rasaq, 40, and one Femi Akomolafe who is at large – were accused of gang-raping the victim when she visited their shrine at the Sabo area of Osogbo to find spiritual solution to her problem of miscarriage.

Alaba Trader ARRESTED for Kidnapping



The Lagos State Police Command says it has smashed a kidnapping syndicate in the Okokomaiko area of the state.

Police authorities gave the names of the suspects as, Azuoma Nwabugoh, Chimobi Onuoha, Moses Okoh, Nwachukwu Nwandike and Michael Arinze.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the suspects were arrested after policemen attached to Ilemba Hausa Division recovered a vehicle belonging to a kidnap victim, Obinna Okpara.

A self-acclaimed Building Engineer has told operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Lagos State Police Command, that he is not an armed robber but a receiver of stolen vehicles.

The suspect, Kayode Haruna, who claimed to be a graduate of Yaba College of Technology, was alleged to have bought over 50 stolen vehicles from armed robbers at low prices after which would sell them members of the public.
