Governors Hold Emergency Meeting On Monday Over Sanusi’s Sack

ABUJA- CHAIRMAN, Nigeria Governors’ Forum, NGF and Rivers State governor, Chibuike Amaechi has summoned an emergency meeting of the governors to take a position on the suspended governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.

In a statement Friday by NGF Director- General, Asishana Okauru, the Monday meeting though an emergency one is the third NGF Meeting in 2014 and will be chaired by Governor Amaechi at the Rivers State Governor’s lodge, Asokoro in Abuja at 8pm prompt.

Gang Rape: Police Arrest Three Suspects in Kwara

The Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command, Mr. Ambrose Aisabo, said on Friday that the command has arrested three out of the six students of the state College of Health and Technology in Offa town who allegedly raped their female colleague in the institution.

The CP during a media briefing in Ilorin said the victim was allegedly drugged by the suspects (names withheld) before they allegedly raped her.

President Jonathan picks Zenith Bank MD as new CBN Governor

 

President Jonathan has picked the current Managing Director of Zenith Bank Godwin Emefiele to replace Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the new Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria. His name has been forwarded to the Senate for confirmation.

Bayo Adelabu, the current Executive Director at First Bank as Deputy Governor of CBN, replacing Tunde Lemo.
