Syrian Snipers Now Targeting Pregnant Women – Surgeon

LONDON (AFP) – Syrian snipers appear to be targeting pregnant women, a British surgeon said Saturday after returning from the conflict zone.

David Nott, who spent five weeks volunteering at a Syrian hospital, told The Times newspaper the gunshot wounds he had treated also indicated that bored snipers were targeting particular parts of civilians’ bodies in a bid to entertain themselves.

2 Nigerian Students Back Home After Over a Year in Hiding in Canada

Berlusconi gets 2-year ban from public office

Milan – A Milan court on Saturday ruled that former Italy Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi should be barred from holding public office for two years following a conviction for tax fraud.

But, since Berlusconi is a senator, the court’s decision will have no immediate effect and his expulsion from the Senate will depend on a separate vote in the upper house of parliament, expected to take place next month.

N255 million cars: Group Gives Aviation Minister, Odua 72 hrs to resign

ABUJA- A civil society group under the aegis of Anti-Corruption Network, yesterday, gave Minister of Aviation,Princess Stella Odua a 72-hour ultimatum to resign her position or face mass protest.

The group said its position was informed by admission by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority that it purchased two bullet-proof cars at the cost of N255 million for the minister.

Photos of an alleged rape, se'xual assault in progress was shared on Twitter, Instagram by onlookers at a college homecoming celebration who chose to take pictures and videos of the se'x act rather than stopping it.

The obviously drunk woman is seen receiving oral se'x from a man with a crowd watching.
She reportedly had no idea what happened to her until the next morning when she saw the photos online. That was when she now contacted the police to report the rape.
Police are now investigating the case but the community is already going on the attack. As not only was the scene of the alleged crime a busy street but it was also one block away from the police station.

Thieves Steal Sacred Virgin’s Crown in Bolivia

COPACABANA (AFP) – The Virgin of our Lady of Copacabana, known as the mother of the nation in Bolivia, has lost her golden crown — the latest religious icon to be stripped by thieves.

In addition to the crown, criminals recently entered the imposing Basilica of our Lady of Copacabana, in a small town on Lake Titicaca, and stole other gold ornaments, which experts value at around $300,000.
