2 customs officers, 5 others killed in Lagos/Ibadan Expressway crash

Two officers of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) were among seven persons killed in a fatal crash on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway at about 11.00 p.m Friday night. The duo were of the Ports Terminal Multi-Services Limited (PTML) command.

Berende family disown terror suspect

Members of Berende family of Ile Eleran at Eruda tuntun, Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State, on Friday, disowned a terror suspect, Abdullahi Berende, who claimed to be a member of the family.

50-year-old Abdullahi and two others, Sulaiman Saka and Saheed Adewunmi were accused by the State Security Service of operating an Iranian terror cell and also gathering information about Isrealis and Americans living in Nigeria.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — At least 33 fans were injured Saturday during a NASCAR race when a car flew into the fence at Daytona International Speedway, hurling a tire and large pieces of debris into the stands. The accident happened on the last lap of the second-tier Nationwide Series race on the eve of Sunday’s Daytona 500, which officials said would go on as scheduled.

Pistorius must 'live with his conscience' if he lied: Steenkamp's father

The distraught father of the woman killed by Oscar Pistorius has said that the sportsman will have to ''live with his conscience'' if he has lied about her death. In an interview after Mr Pistorius was released on bail, Barry Steenkamp voiced fears that the Olympic sprinter was not telling the truth.
