Nigerian govt irresponsible in protecting youths – Hillary Clinton


United States’ former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, said on Wednesday night in New York that the Nigerian government had shown irresponsibility in matters relating to girls and boys over the years.

Clinton, who is a likely presidential candidate in 2016, added her voice to an increasingly widespread outrage that has followed the kidnap of over 250 schoolgirls from a government secondary school in Chibok, Borno State by Boko Haram insurgents on April 14, 2014.

Podium collapses as Fayose campaigns in Oni’s town




Tragedy was averted on Friday at Ifaki-Ekiti as the podium on which the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Mr. Ayo Fayose, stood to campaign collapsed.

Some of those who were on the podium were Fayose; his wife, Feyisetan; ex-Deputy Governor; Abiodun Olujimi; Senator Teslim Folarin; Senator Ayo Arise; a former House of Representatives member, Mr. Duro Faseyi and Prince Dayo Adeyeye.

Nollywood actor, Bob-Manuel Udokwu has been appointed a Special Assistant on Entertainment by Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano. He made the announcement via a BB message yesterday.

Five suspected kidnappers shot dead in Edo



FIVE suspected kidnappers were shot dead yesterday by the police in Edo state during a gun duel with the suspects.

This comes as the Edo State Police Commissioner, Mr Funso Adebanjo raised an alarm that armed bandits and kidnappers are succeeding in Nigeria because Nigerians are not giving useful information to the police.

Masterminds of Nyanya Bomb Blasts Nabbed – Jonathan


President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday revealed that the masterminds of the two deadly bomb blasts that rocked Nyanya, a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory have been arrested and are currently helping the security agencies in their efforts to unmask their financiers.

Jonathan spoke while fielding questions from journalists at the end of the 24th World Economic Forum for Africa, WEFA, held in Abuja which ended yesterday.

Chibok: American Marines locate abducted girls in Sambisa forest


There were indications yesterday that the 230 female students abducted by Boko Haram terrorists from the Government Girls’ Secondary School, GGSS, Chibok, Borno State, have been sited at the Sambisa Forest in Borno State, by the Special Forces of the United States Marines.

The girls who were abducted on April 14, were part of the 250 students boarded at the school for the West African School Certificate, WASC/ Senior Secondary School Certificate, SSSC, examinations, triggering world-wide condemnations.
