First photo of Sudanese Woman On Death Row After Her Release Yesterday

The Sudanese woman sentenced to death for Apostasy was released yesterday June 23rd after a Sudanese Supreme Court ordered her immediate release. A happy Meriam Ibrahim is seen in the picture flanked on her right by her husband, Daniel Wani, their 21month old son Martin who was in prison with her, their newly born daughter Maya and her legal team. Meriam is currently being kept in a secret place.

Drama In Abuja As Soldiers Stop and Search House or Reps Speaker Tambuwal’s car

A mild drama ensued in Kaduna on Monday after soldiers stopped the motorcade of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, and searched his official car.

Findings showed that Tambuwal, who was in the flagged car on his way to the venue of an international conference on security, was asked to wind down his window glass to the surprise of other VIPs, who drove past the same route.

Gunmen Kill Six People in Kaduna Villages

Two persons were reportedly killed on Sunday in a violence that greeted the announcement of a new chief, the Res-Tsam, in Fadan- Chawai in the Kauru Local government Area of Kaduna State.

Four other persons were killed by yet-to-be-identified gunmen in separate incidents in another two villages. Among the four were a man and his wife said to have been killed in Rikarwan village in the Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of the state.
