BREAKING: Wife, daughter and driver of Supreme Court Justice Rhodes-Vivour kidnapped in Edo


Gunmen, on Friday night took hostage of the wife, daughter and driver of a Supreme Court Justice, Bode Rhodes-Vivour in Benin, the Edo State capital. All three were forcefully whisked away at gunpoint, while they were en route Benin, in preparation for Justice Vivour daughter’s wedding.

I am happy to be with you today at this moment of your National Convention. Once again, Nigeria is at the cusp of change. We stand at the threshold of history, willing and determined to keep the promise of building a new nation. I am thus happy to be with you today at this momentous occasion of your National Convention.

A similar momentous event is taking place in Abuja about now. That the ANPP and CPC are holding their National Conventions the same day though in different locations to, among other things, endorse the on-going merger process barely three weeks after the Action Congress of Nigeria had done its own in Lagos, underscores the unquestionable commitments of the Progressive Nigerian leaders to re-direct and reposition Politics and Governance in this country.

2015: I’m yet to decide if I will contest for president – Governor Aliyu


Niger State Governor, Babangida Aliyu has on Saturday declared that he was yet to decide if he would run for the 2015 presidential election. Aliyu, while addressing newsmen on Saturday, in Kaduna at a one-day North Central Zonal Security Awareness Workshop in Minna, dissociated himself from the posters depicting him to be seeking the Peoples Democratic Party presidential ticket for the 2015 election.

Nigeria Sets June Meetings for $1 Billion Bond to Fund Power (1)


Nigeria plans to sell $1 billion of Eurobonds to finance power projects after meetings with international investors in June, Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala said. The securities will be dollar-denominated, Okonjo-Iweala said in an interview in Cape Town, where she is attending the World Economic Forum on Africa. Nigeria is to host the conference for the first time next year, she said.
