Security: FCE Gombe Advises Students To Relocate To Campus
Federal College of Education, Technical, Gombe, has advised all its students staying off campus, particularly residents of London Maidorowa and Kagarawal quarters, to relocate to the campus for safety reasons. The Provost of the College, Dr Abbas Gimba, gave the advice in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gombe on Friday, saying that all the places mentioned were volatile and not good for students to live.
President Jonathan Calls For Establishment Of ASA Secretariat
President Goodluck Jonathan in Malabo on Friday called for the establishment of a secretariat for the Africa-South-America (ASA) Summit. Jonathan made the call in an address at the third Africa-South America Summit, saying that the establishment of the secretariat would consolidate the various institutions that would drive the collaboration.
Health Workers Strike Paralyses Services At OAUTHC
The strike by federal health workers at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital (OAUTH), Ile-Ife, on Friday paralysed services at the institution, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports. NAN observed that health care services at the hospital were skeletal and most offices were deserted, with only the doctors attending to the few patients in the wards.

NBC Closes Down Wazobia FM Kano
Broadcasting license of the Wazobia FM in Kano State North West Nigeria has been revoked with immediate effect.
According a source working with the station in Kano, at about 4:45PM on Friday they received a circular from the Nigerian broadcasting commission banning all broadcasting operation of the station in Kano.
All effort to get in touch with the representatives of NBC in Kano was not successful, however all broadcasting operations in Wazobia FM has been interrupted.
The newly established station came with a critical analysis of political activities in the politically sensitive Kano state which many politicians especially the ruling class frown at.

Cynthia Osokogu: Receptionist issued used receipt to alleged killers
A prosecution witness, Miss Vivian Amuneke, in the ongoing trial of the alleged killers of Cynthia Osokogu, who was said to have been murdered by her Facebook lovers, on Friday, while testifying in the trial, said she issued used receipts when the alleged killers paid for the room in the hotel. At the resumed hearing of the matter before Justice Olabisi Akande of a Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja, Vivian, who is the receptionist at Cosmilla Hotel, Lagos, where Cynthia was murdered, while being led in evidence by the Attorney-General of Lagos State, Mr Ade Ipaye, stated that she issued the receipt because the room had earlier been paid for by a couple who checked out before their lodging time elapsed.

Nestle Nigeria to triple sales to $2.2 billion over 10 years
Nestle Nigeria aims to triple its sales in Africa's most populous nation to 350 billion naira ($2.2 bln) in 10 years as the consumer market for food and cereal booms. The local unit of Swiss company Nestle SA, the world's biggest food group, will invest 100 billion naira ($635 mln) over the same period to achieve its sales target, chief financial officer Martin Kruegel told Reuters on Friday.
"Our aim is to triple our Nigerian sales over the next 10 years from 117 billion naira," he said.
On Wednesday, Nestle Nigeria reported a 38 percent in full-year pretax profit to 25 billion naira on strong sales of food and cereals in Africa's second biggest economy. Gross revenue rose 19 percent to 117 billion naira.

U.S. sues disgraced cyclist Armstrong for sponsor money
The United States accused cyclist Lance Armstrong on Friday of defrauding the U.S. Postal Service by taking its sponsorship money at the same time he was doping and using performance-enhancing drugs in violation of cycling rules.
The government joined a civil suit against Armstrong, stripped of his seven Tour de France titles and banned for life from cycling in 2012 after accusations he had cheated for years. In January, he said the accusations were true in an interview with television host Oprah Winfrey.

Tinubu, Shekarau meet APGA leaders over APC
THERE are indications that the former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and former Kano State governor, Ibrahin Shekarau, met the leadership of the All Progressive Grand Alliance for several hours on Thursday evening over the new opposition party, All Progressive Congress (APC).
The meeting, according to a reliable source, took place at Tinubu’s Bourdillon Avenue, Ikoyi Lagos, but it was not clear whether the former governor was the one who facilitated the rapprochement between APGA and APC.

22 Year-Old LASPOTECH Student Allegedly Beaten to Death by Boyfriend
There has been a disturbing increase in reported cases of domestic violence leading to death, especially among young couples. A recent one which resulted in the alleged murder of an undergraduate student ofLagos State Polytechnic is one that is particularly worrisome. The victim, only 22, had her whole life ahead of her but it was cut short after a fight she had with her boyfriend which led to her untimely death.

EFCC ordered to reveal details of recovered Ibru’s properties
A federal high court, on Friday, ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to furnish Mr Boniface Okezie with details of properties recovered from Mrs Cecilia Ibru within 72 hours. Ibru, former Managing Director, Oceanic Bank Plc, was convicted of mismanagement of depositors’ funds and reckless grant of credit facilities in October 2010.
10 Killed In Plateau Community

The police in Lagos have arraigned four suspects, including the mother of a baby who sold it for N60,000 to a nurse. The mother, Joy Uzochukwa, 27, the man who impregnated her, Chibuzor Ogbonna, 50 and two others, Margaret Obinwa, 49 and Rev. Simon Dike, 69 were arraigned before an Ebute-Meta Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, for allegedly selling and buying a new baby boy.
