(Reuters) - Turkish Airlines on Wednesday denied carrying weapons and military equipment to Nigeria after a Twitter account behind a string of leaks in a Turkish corruption scandal released a voice recording suggesting it had done so.
The Twitter posting late on Tuesday was the latest blow to Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan in a government graft scandal which has grown into one of the biggest challenges of his 11 years in office, and which he has cast as a plot by his political enemies to unseat him.

Two Policemen Under Probe Over Alleged Car Theft
The police on Wednesday told a Karu Chief Magistrates’ Court in FCT that two of its officers were under internal investigation for their alleged involvement in a car theft.
Prosecutor Peter Adams said this at the arraignment of a 28-year-old man, Saidu Abdul, charged with conspiring with one of the officers to steal the car belonging to John Yiltie.

An accident involving three vehicles, one carry 19 Redeemed church members, occurred on Monday along the Potiskum-Maiduguri highway leaving all the Redeemed church members burnt beyond recognition and 16 others dead.
Confirming the accident, the Federal Road Safety Commission spokesman in Yobe State, Mr Yusuf Sani, said the church members were said to be coming back from a church programme in Lagos when the accident happened

A worker of Devtraco Limited, a Ghana-based real estate company at Community 25 in Tema, Greater Accra Region, met his untimely death when he was grinded to death last Thursday by a concrete mixer.

A new study analysing Twitter use in Africa has ranked Lagos 11th on the list of the most active tweeting cities on the continent.
Despite the fact that Nigeria is the largest country on the continent in terms of population, none of its metropolitan cities occupied the top 10 most active tweeting cities in Africa, according to the survey.
