A student, Ekumah Emeka, on Tuesday, appeared before an Ogudu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, over an alleged internet fraud of N1, 340, 000.

Emeka, 24, a 200-level student of Architecture at the Nnamdi Azikwe University, Awka, Anambra State, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

Police Arraign 29 Year Old Man Over N1.9m Visa Fraud

Lagos – A 29-year-old man, Oluwaseun Akintoye was on Tuesday docked at a Yaba Magistrates’ Court in Lagos over an alleged N1.9 million visa fraud.

The accused, who resides at No. 3, General Paint St., Ajah on Lagos-Epe Expressway, is facing a two-count charge of stealing and obtaining money under false pretences.

Phones of passengers on missing plane still ringing, relatives claim



This Malaysian plane disappearance has to be the most mysterious incident that has happened in recent history. Late yesterday, relatives of some of the passengers on board the vanished aircraft who are lodged in a hotel, claimed they were still able to call the cellphones of their missing loved ones.


Twitter Posts Land 2 Saudi Men in Prison



(CNN) -- Two men were found guilty in Saudi courts this week for, among other offenses, messages they posted on Twitter.

On Monday, one Saudi man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for using Twitter to encourage protests and undermine the country's leadership, according to Saudi Arabian state news agency SPA.

Messenger in Court for Impersonating Police Sergeant

A 29-year-old messenger, Mohammed Lawal, on Monday appeared in a Senior Magistrates’ Court in Karu, FCT, for impersonating a policeman sergeant.

Lawal of Mararaba, Nasarawa State, is accused of parading himself as a police sergeant to deceive and gain favour from members of the public. He appeared before Senior Magistrate Aminu Abdullahi on a one-count charge of impersonation.

Roy Ortiz of Broomfield, Colo. was saved from a submerged car during heavy flooding in the area last September, but he's now considering suing his rescuers.

Nigerian Man jailed 3 Years for Duping 81 YEAR Old Pensioner in the UK


40 year old Nigerian man Chris Chidi Dinneya (pictured above) has been jailed for three and a half years for duping an 81 year old pensioner from Cambridge of £300,000 out of his life savings. Dinneya told the old man, who was not named publicly, that he had won the Spanish Lottery and the victim believed that hewas set to receive a large payout that he continued to pay even after police launched an investigation.

Student Leader Killed in Venezuela

A student leader was fatally shot in the western university city of San Cristobal after a long day of street clashes in which Venezuelan security forces attacked and dismantled barricades at key intersections, according to the city’s mayor.

Local TV reporter Beatriz Font said there were unconfirmed reports of at least two others wounded by gunfire after dark on Monday in the city of 600,000 people where student-led protests erupted last month and where anti-government unrest has been fiercest.

Driver Raped Student for 21 Days


The State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, has arraigned a 28-year-old man, Gbenga Asaye, before a Lagos State Magistrate’s Court for allegedly abducting and raping a student of Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Ijanikin.

The police said the incident happened at the Agege area of the state.

Three People Die in Ibadan Church Fire


Three people were killed in the inferno that razed Mercyland Prayers Ministry, Oke-Itunu, Ibadan, Oyo State on Monday.

Eyewitnesses said the deceased were sleeping in the church when the fire, which started around 1.45am, trapped them in the building. Four others, including a pregnant woman were said to have escaped.

TORONTO (AFP) – A Canadian judge on Monday ordered a mid-April preliminary hearing in the case of troubled pop star Justin Bieber, who is accused of assaulting a limousine driver in Toronto.

The April 14 court hearing will deal with mostly administrative matters. A trial date has yet to be set, and could be several months away, Bieber’s lawyer said.

Suspected Cultists Kill Two Including 60-yr-Old Man in Makurdi


MAKURDI – Two persons, including a 60-year-old-man were reportedly shot dead on Sunday evening by suspected cult members in Wadata area of Makurdi, the Benue state capital.

Vanguard gathered from an eyewitness who craved anonymity that the four suspects who were students of one of the tertiary institutions in the town had stormed the area in search of one of the victims.

British journalist shot dead in Kabul


Kabul – A foreign journalist working for a British news channel was shot on Tuesday by gunmen in the Afghan capital, police source said.

“The British journalist was travelling in his car along with his Afghan interpreter at Wazir Akbar Khan area’s 15th Street when he was shot,” Gul Agha Hashemi, Chief of the Kabul Police Criminal Investigation Department, said
