Peter Okoye comes to Tiwa Savage's defense


Tiwa has been getting a lot of flak from fans since the racy video for her song Wanted was released. Some felt it was a bit too much, especially for a married woman. Well, there's someone who thinks everyone should shush it and leave the girl alone. Peter Okoye took to his instagram page a few hours ago to defend Tiwa, comparing her to Beyonce and Nicki and pointing out the hypocrisy. Akpabio Asks Lawmakers To Reverse Ex-govs’ Pension Law


AKWA Ibom State governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio, has sent a bill to the state House of Assembly, requesting that the section of the Pension Act which pegged the amount former governors and deputies could spend annually on medical bills to N100 million and N50 million respectively be expunged and reverted to status quo.

This, he said, was done after due consideration of the stance of the opposition in misinforming members of the public.

The Australian authorities on Tuesday offered to deploy the country's special forces to help Nigerian government in the Chibok girls find-and-rescue operation.

Speaking with Sky News, Australia Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said that they had not received any clear response to their offer yet.

"We have not had a response from the Nigerian government. They’ve thanked us for our willingness to be involved in trying to rescue the girls but we haven’t had any specific acceptance of the offers that we’ve made."

Notorious Kidnap Gang That Killed Ex Deputy Gov Anambra State Have Been Caught!


The Lagos State Police Command, yesterday, paraded three suspected members of a notorious kidnap gang that killed former Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Chudi Nwike.

Nwike was kidnapped on March 19, 2013 and a N30 million ransom was demanded by his abductors who reportedly murdered him after taking N5 million as ransom.

Parading the suspects alongside four others, among whom were three Ibadan‑based alleged hired assassins, who confessed to have been given N140,000 as advance payment to eliminate a businessman in Lagos, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko, said the arrest of the kidnap suspects followed the arrest of one Monday Odieto in Benin, Edo State, by the Divisional Police Officer in‑charge of Ikoyi, Aisha Haruna.

New CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele Assumes Office


Former Group Managing Director of Zenith Bank, Godwin Emefiele today June 3rd assumed office as the new Central Bank Governor. Mr Emefiele was chosen by President Jonathan to replace Sanusi.

In a brief handing over ceremony at the CBN Headquarters in Abuja, Emefiele took over the reigns of the CBN from the acting governor, Sarah Alade.

Godwin Emefiele has a Bachelor of Science degree and an MBA in Finance both from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He has over 26 years banking experience.

Oscar-winning 12 Years a Slave actress Lupita Nyong'o has joined the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII.

The news was announced on the Star Wars website, although it did not say what roles the actress would play.

Star Wars: Episode VII is due in cinemas on 18 December 2015.
