Davido Signs His First Ghanaian Artist DeeKay to HKN Music

HKN music is branching out and has signed it’s first act outside of Nigeria, from Ghana. The new HKN Ghana ensign is a rapper by the moniker of DeeKay and has previously worked with the Omo Baba Olowo,Davido on a track, “High Fever” which dropped sometime last year. Then signed to Impeccable Entertainment, it seems the young Ghanaian rapper and Davido have been buttressing great rapport ever since then and that has turned into a great business deal. Nigerians mark Awolowo’s posthumous birthday



Eminent Nigerians on Wednesday gathered at the Ikenne-Remo, Ogun Stateresidence of the late sage, Obafemi Awolowo, to mark his 26th posthumous birthday. Mr. Awolowo, former Premier of the Western Region of Nigeria (now South-Western states and Edo) was born on March 6,1909; and died on May 9, 1987.

Traditional rites for coronation of Attah-Igala commences



The traditional rites for the new Kogi traditional ruler have commenced. The new Attah-Igala, Idakwo Ameh-Oboni, has left Lokoja for Ugwolawo at the beginning of a week-long traditional rite for his coronation. Yakubu Yunusa, the Majority Leader of Kogi House of Assembly, disclosed this on Tuesday at the assembly’s plenary session.

Gunmen kill Gwoza DPO, 9 others

Meanwhile, suspected members of Boko Haram,yesterday attacked the township of Gwoza, killing the divisional police officer there and at least seven civilians. The attack also targeted banks in the town.
Eyewitnesses said the militants rode confidently in two pick-up vans into the quiet township, 135 kilometres from Maiduguri, around 9pm.
