SHOCKER: NDLEA Arrests Popular Comedian For Drug Ingestion (PHOTO)



A popular Ghanaian comedian, Musah Iddrisu, and a Congolese, Inana Cedrick, have been arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, for ingesting drug.

Iddrisu and Cedrick were arrested during the inward and outward screening of Ethiopian airline passengers respectively at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.

The video captures the mad moment stuntman Alexander Chernikov set himself alight then jumped off the roof into a pile of snow. This amateur stuntman shocked onlookers when he climbed on to a roof, set himself on fire then leaped to the snow-covered ground.

Dressed in bright purple, the 22-year-old spent a week preparing for the dizzying stunt, which was being filmed by his accomplice on the ground.

The deceased identified as Ogadinma Chukwu is said to have slumped and died atop the prostitute who called on her colleagues and the brothel workers for help. They then carried the dead body and dumped it behind the brothel.

40 year old autistic man Andrew Young (pictured below) died from a single blow to the head by Lewis Gill, 20, (pictured above) in November 2013. Lewis killed Young with a single punch in an unprovoked attack captured on CCTV after Young challenged Lewis' friend for riding a bike on the pavement in the Charminster area of Bournemouth. Lewis pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to only four years for the crime last Friday. NCC seizes N100m Equipment from DSTV Tappers

The Nigeria Copyright Commission (NCC) said it confiscated equipment worth over N100 million from pirates illegally tapping broadband broadcast signals of right-owners in Onitsha area.

The Zonal Head of NCC in Onitsha, Mr Emeka Ogbonna, said on Wednesday in Onitsha that the seizure covered a period of two years.

Ogbonna said that 15 persons had been arraigned at the Federal High Court in Awka over the illegal act.

LAGOS — A policeman, Michael Okoli, has been arrested by the police at Okokomaiko Division for allegedly attacking his wife, Felicia, with a cutlass.

The incident happened at their home, 4, Abukareem Close, Afromedia Estate, Lagos State. His wife is in a critical condition at Gbagada General Hospital after she was rejected by many hospitals.

Nigerian student sentenced to death in Malaysia for drug trafficking


A 28 year old Nigerian student, Prince Bartholowmew Obitube, has been sentenced to death by a high court in Malaysia for trafficking drugs. The Shah Alam High Court yesterday Feb 26th gave the death penalty to Obitube after he was found guilty of trafficking cannabis, also known as marijuana.

Woolwich Killers Adebolajo & Adebowale Sentenced to Life in Prison


The two men who attacked a soldier, Lee Rigby, in May 2013 and hacked him to death in the streets in front of horrified onlookers near Woolwich Barracks in south-east London, have been sentenced to life in prison. Michael Adebolajo, 29, was given a whole-life term, while Michael Adebowale, 22, was jailed for life with a minimum of 45 years.

Federal Government increases Passport fee by 50%


The Federal Government has increased passport fee by 50%. According to a circular signed by the Deputy Comptroller in charge of Operations/Passport and released a few days ago titled 'Passport Reforms', applicants will now pay N15,000 instead of N10,000. (It was officially N10,000 but we all know how much we really paid.) Also applicants for change of data will pay now N30,000.

Nigerian man who stabbed his wife while she slept jailed for 12 years


A Nigerian businessman has been jailed for 12 years after he was found guilty of stabbing his wife as she slept in their home. Oluwabusayo Abegunde, 38, (pictured above) stabbed his wife repeatedly with a kitchen knife after he went through her phone and discovered she was seeing someone else.

Woman Sentenced To Three Years In Prison For Drug Trafficking


A Federal High Court in Lagos on Tuesday sentenced a 35-year-old woman, Sikirat Jimoh, to three years in prison for drug trafficking. Jimoh, a Nigerian resident in Ghana, was arraigned on Feb. 12 on a one-count charge of dealing in Cannabis Sativa (Indian Hemp).

She had pleaded guilty to the charge and Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke adjourned the suit for sentencing.

Court jails fraudster 10 years for duping blind teacher


A Federal High Court, sitting in Enugu, has convicted and sentenced one Gift Onyegam to 10 years imprisonment without an option of fine for duping a blind teacher, Rosemary Iheanacho, of N830, 000 on the pretext that he would help her son secure employment in an oil company.

The convict, who pleaded not guilty, was also ordered to pay the sum of N711, 000 in restitution to the victim.

Sanusi Sues Jonathan, Challenges Suspension

The suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Lamido Sanusi, has dragged President Goodluck Jonathan before an Abuja Federal High Court, challenging his suspension from office.

In the application filed on his behalf by his lawyer, Kola Awodein, SAN, Sanusi is asking the court to restrain the President, the Attorney General of the Federation and the Inspector General of Police from giving effect to his purported suspension from office as the Governor of the CBN, pending the determination of the suit.

WhatsApp To Add Voice Calls Later This Year



Plenty have been wondering what's next for WhatsApp after the popular messaging service was purchased by Facebook for $16 billion last week, and now we have the answer: voice calls. According to TechCrunch, WhatsApp announced during a Mobile World Congress event today that it would be adding voice services to iOS and Android during the second quarter of the year. The feature will reportedly head to Nokia devices and BlackBerrys sometime after that.

Guard Rapes Woman While Returning From Vigil


A security man, Kelly Ochuko, has been accused of raping a 24-year-old lady, Tivere, while she was returning from a vigil at the Synagogue Church of All Nation. The police said the incident happened around 2am on Mutiatu Street, Ikotun, Lagos State.

It was learnt that the victim had travelled to Lagos from Sapele, Delta State, to participate in the Pastor Temitope Joshua’s midnight programme.

Nokia Announces It's NEW Android Phones: X, X+


Nokia is officially launching its very first Android devices, known as the X and the X+, on stage at its annual Mobile World Congress press conference. We were all taken aback by the second (and third) device (since only one leaked), but either way it’s still incredible to see Nokia take this particular approach. The X will have a 4-inch, 840 x 480 IPS screen, 512MB RAM, 4GB of storage expandable storage via microSD slot and 3-megapixel camera, while the X+ sports the same specs but more RAM (768 MB) and an included 4GB microSD card.

NICE, France (Reuters) - UEFA president Michel Platini has repeated his call for the "triple punishment" of red card, penalty and suspension to be dropped following two controversial dismissals in the Champions League this week.

The triple punishment follows when the referee dismisses a player for an offence in the penalty area which he judges has denied an attacker an obvious goalscoring chance.

BBM To Be Available On Nokia Lumia Phones Soon


Today at its Mobile World Congress event, Nokia announced that BlackBerry Messenger will be released in the “coming months” for its Windows Phone devices.

Suspected Boko Haram sects yesterday invaded Mairari village of Konduga Local Government Area of Borno state, killing about 2 residents after setting many houses, shops and vehicles ablaze.

Also, another set of terrorists revisited Izge village of Gwoza local government area and razed the entire village into ashes. Izge town was attacked early this month when the terrorists ambushed a military posts and killed nine soldiers at the spot.
