Anglican Church Subjects Members To Oath Denouncing Homosexuality

The Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) has introduced a clause in its constitution subjecting members, who intend to hold positions in church, to take an oath of allegiance to God denouncing homosexuality.

The public denunciation took place in Abuja on Sunday at St. Matthews, Maitama, during the swearing-in of new members of the Parish Church Council (PCC).

NOT AGAIN: Kanu Undergoes Another Heart Surgery

The surgery was carried out during one of his normal yearly routine medical checks at the hospital following the 1997 heart surgery at the same hospital.

Co-ordinator jof the Kanu Heart Foundation, Pastor Onyebuchi Abia confirmed the success of the surgery adding that the former Super Eagles captain has since left the intensive care unit, ICU, of the hospital and is recuperating in the hosptal.

In the same way, the 10 most capitalised companies listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) make up over one-fifth of the country’s economy with many of the major shareholders drawn from the ranks of the 10 richest Nigerians.

Former Presidents/Heads of State, business men, entertainers, sports men, and families of people who helped shape Nigeria in the last 100 years were all honoured at the Centenary Awards which held at the banquet hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday February 28th.

President Jonathan decorated seven living former Heads of State and Presidents including; Yakubu Gowon, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Alhaji Shehu Shagari, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, Chief Ernest Shonekan and Gen. Abdusalami Abubakar.

He also honored 6 late Nigerian Heads of State post-humously. See pics from the event after the cut.

BREAKING NEWS: 51 Dead, 60 Injured as Multiple Bomb Explosions Rock Maiduguri (UPDATED WITH PHOTOS)

According to residents, two thunderous explosions, suspected to be from detonated bombs, were heard in the city at about 6.15 p.m. on March 1, 2014, Saturday. Then the third explosion was reported, but it has not been officially confirmed.

Terrorists in two vans, pretending to be firewood suppliers, detonated the bombs at a densely populated Ajilari ward, Jere Council area of Maiduguri, near Ngomari-Bulumkutu.

Mikel was actually in SA to star in an inspirational new movie alongside superstar actress Genevieve Nnaji. The new movie is titled The Journey, sponsored by Amstel Malta.

The Journey centres on the superstars' journey to success; how they started out, the story of their challenges and the glory of where they are now. The movie is to be premiered at the Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards on the 8th of March, 2014. See more photos and the trailer after the cut...
