A nursing mother, Chigozie Osinachi, and her four-month-old baby are currently being detained at the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, of the Lagos State Police Command.

Chigozie, is said to be the wife of a kidnap kingpin, Jonah Osinachi, aka China, who reportedly masterminded the kidnap of the chairman, Ejigbo Local Council Development Area, Kehinde Bamigbetan, early this year.

A gang of armed robbers out to rob a bank yesterday, attacked Makarfi Divisional Police Station in Kaduna State, and beat up, disarmed all the policemen at the station.

According to one of the policeman who spoke to reporters, but pleaded for anonymity, the robbers numbered between 25 and 30. And would have successfully killed all of them the policemen at the station just if the robbers had so wished.

Telling the story of what happened at the station, he said:

A Tennessee man accidentally shot his neighbor through the floor of their apartment complex, police say. David White, 22, told police he was "playing around" with the weapon at about 11 p.m. Sunday in his Nashville apartment, WATE reported. The gun discharged, and a bullet shot through the floor and into the apartment below.

And in Iraq a bomb ripped through a crowd of worshippers Tuesday as they left a mosque in Iraq after prayers marking the Muslim Eid al-Adha holiday, killing 11 people, police and a doctor said.

BOMB ATTACK: Suicide Bombers Die In Failed Plot During Ethiopia Vs Nigeria Match In Addis Ababa

Two Somali suicide bombers who had planned to kill football fans during Ethiopia’s World Cup qualifying match against Nigeria on Sunday blew themselves up accidentally before carrying out the attack, the Ethiopian government said on Monday.

Kidnapped Cross River Deputy Governor’s Father Regains Freedom

CALABAR— Cross River Police Command, Monday, announced the release of Etubom Essien Cobham, father of the state’s Deputy Governor, Mr. Efiok Cobham, who was abducted by unknown gunmen on Friday.

A statement by Mr. Hogan Bassey, the Police Public Relations Officer, in Calabar said that Cobham was released on Sunday. He did not give details as to how the elder statesman was released or whether any ransom had been paid.
