GAY Rights Activist, Tortured And Killed IN CAMEROUN

DAKAR, Senegal — A prominent gay rights activist in Cameroon was tortured and killed just weeks after issuing a public warning about the threat posed by "anti-gay thugs," Human Rights Watch said.

Friends discovered the body of Eric Ohena Lembembe at his home in the capital, Yaounde, on Monday evening after he was unreachable for two days, the rights group said in a statement Tuesday.

One friend said Lembembe's neck and feet looked broken and that he had been burned with an iron.

Shell shuts 624MW Afam VI power plant


Power generation in the country dropped further on Tuesday following the shutdown of the 624 megawatts capacity Afam VI Power Plant by the Shell Petroleum Development Company Joint Venture.

Shell said in a statement that the power plant was shut down due to gas shortage arising from the closure of the Trans Niger Pipeline due to crude oil theft related leaks.

Retired POLICE Officer Shoots WIFE DEAD After Losing VIDEO GAME SEX BET

Keith Wiens, a retired officer in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, faces second-degree murder charges in the August 2011 shooting death of his common-law wife, Lynn Kalmring. In court Thursday, Wiens testified that he shot Kalmring in the face in self-defense after a lost bet over a Nintendo Wii game escalated into a violent domestic dispute.

According to the Penticton Western News, Wiens told the court that he and Kalmring usually made sexual wagers over video games. On the night of the shooting, Wiens said he lost and came to the bedroom to find sex toys on his pillow. Tired, Wiens brushed the toys aside and went to bed, but Kalmring got upset and accused him of not finding her attractive, he said in court.
