Ekiti state election: APC says they are going to court

The APC has released a statement saying they are going to court to challenge the process of the recently concluded governorship election in Ekiti State, for what it termed the militarization of Ekiti during the campaign and election period. 28 year old Olympian and five-time U.S. national champion Alysia Montano ran an 800m race at the Hornet Stadium in Sacramento, California, yesterday and people are now questioning if it's safe.

Alysia received a standing ovation after completing the race in 2 minutes, 32.13 seconds, 35 seconds slower than her personal best of 1:57.34, which she smashed back in 2010 in a race in Monaco.

How Kidnapper Strangled & Tied neighbor's 6-year old son in a box(PHOTO)

A six-year-old boy, Emmanuel Emeka, who was rescued from a suspected kidnapper on Wednesday in the Ikorodu area of Lagos, has recounted how he was lured, seized and tied up by his abductor.

Emmanuel said the suspect, identified as Mama Ifunaya, who was a neighbour, lured him into her room, strangled him,covered his mouth with clothes before tying him up with rope to prevent him from screaming.

He said,

Okada Rider Arrested for Raping Female Passenger

The Abia State Police Command said it has taken into custody a middle-aged man ( names withheld ), for allegedly raping a female passenger who boarded his bike late in the night.

Commissioner of Police, Adamu Ibrahim, who said this in a statement, said the incident took place around 9pm at Ntigha area of the state.

Confusion Over Apapa Explosion, As Police, State Fire Service, Journalists Contradict Each Other (GRAPHIC PHOTO)

There has been confusion ever since an explosion rocked Folawiyo axis of Creek Road, Apapa in Lagos Wednesday night.

Residents are of the opinion that it was a bomb blast as opposed the Police claim that a tanker carrying fuel burst into flames in the area while led to the loud sound. The Director of the State Fire Service was also contacted by journalists and he said the explosion wasn't a bomb blast but a gas explosion, a report which contradicts that of the Police.

15 men gang rape 16-yr-old girl in Rivers

PORT HARCOURT — POLICE have arrested members of a 15-man gang that allegedly raped a 16-year-old girl in Gbuga area of Ogbunabali, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The state Police Commissioner, Mr Tunde Ogunsakin, told newsmen, yesterday, at the Police headquarters in Port Harcourt that the girl allegedly attended a party organised in the area, adding that she took a glass of strong drink offered her by one of the rapists which made her pass out before she was allegedly raped by 15 men.

The police in Ondo State have arrested one Success Okon for allegedly killing his friend, simply identified as Solomon, during a brawl over a video disc.

The incident occurred at Agunla Onipetesi village in Ile Oluji, Oke Igbo Local Government Area of the state.

Mysterious Snakes And Bees Attack Boko Haram in Sambisa Forest

Some members of the Islamist sect, Boko Haram, arrested yesterday at Mairi ward behind University of Maiduguri by members of the Civilian JTF vigilante group, have confessed that most of them are fleeing the Sambisa Forest to areas across Borno State owing to what they believe is spiritual attacks from mysterious snakes and bees, which had killed many of their leaders.

According to Kolo Mustapha, one of the arrested insurgents, “most of us are fleeing because there are too many snakes and bees now in the forest. Once they bite, they disappear and the victims do not last for 24 hours.

President Jonathan who was in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea attending the 23rd Ordinary Session of the African Union Heads of States when the bomb blast occurred at Emab plaza in Abuja yesterday June 25th killing 21 people, is said to have withdrawn from the summit & is currently back in the country to assess the situation.

Woman Found In Her Flat 6 Years After She Died....

A woman has been found dead in her flat in Dorset six years after she died. The woman, named locally as Anne Leitrim, lived in Tolpuddle Gardens in the Muscliff area of Bournemouth.

A bailiff, estate agent and two locksmiths broke into the ground floor flat on Tuesday and discovered the remains.

Pandemonium broke out today at the University of Jos in Plateau state following an alleged sighting of a male suicide bomber in the school premises. Students and lecturers all took to their heels on hearing the rumor. (It's almost funny but its too serious).
