Soldiers’ attack: NSA apologises to Tambuwal


The National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, on Wednesday apologised to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Aminu Tambuwal, over the incident in Kaduna where soldiers searched his official car.

This came as the House of Representatives ordered investigation into the incident.

Dasuki, in a letter to the Speaker, tendered an “unreserved apology” to Tambuwal, assuring him that such an incident would not happen again.

20 suspected Boko Haram members arrested in Enugu

Twenty suspected members of the violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram, were arrested in Enugu on Wednesday after a commercial bus conveying them was intercepted by security operatives.

The bus was reportedly stopped at Obollo Afor in the Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State.

It was learnt that the bus, with registration number AKD816XG, was conveying the alleged insurgents from Aba in Abia State to the northern part of the country.

Boko Haram Attacks Military Post, Kills 16 Soldiers


Men suspected to be members of the outlawed Boko Haram sect on Tuesday night attacked a military post at Bulabulin Ngaura in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State and killed 16 soldiers.

One of the soldiers that narrowly escaped the attack, who confirmed this to journalists in Maiduguri, said, “We were totally subdued by the insurgents.”

New Telegraph’s Managing Editor dies in Emab Plaza bomb blast


The Managing Editor (North) of the New Telegraph newspapers, Alhaji Suleiman Bisalla (pictured above) sadly was among the 21 people that died in yesterday's Emab Plaza bombing in Abuja.

Bisalla, 46, a native of Gindiri in Mangul LGA of Plateau State, had left the New Telegraph office in Abuja around 3.30pm to Emab Plaza to go and repair his phone. The bomb went off 30 minutes later.

Ritualists’ Den Owned by a Pastor Uncovered in Lagos, 8 Kidnapped Victims Rescued

A ritualist den owned by one pastor Ernest Nwankwo, the General Overseer of Holy Family Ministry a.k.a House of Mercy was yesterday June 25th uncovered at Ogolonto area in Ikorodu, Lagos, with 8 victims rescued.

According to Vanguard, the den was discovered after a failed attempt by a woman identified as Mrs Rosemary Chukwu, a member of Pastor Nwankwo's church, to kidnap her neighbor's 7 year old son, Emeka Emmanuel to the den for rituals.

Is BOKO HARAM Finally in LAGOS?? Explosion reported in Creek Road, Apapa, Lagos. 4 People Dead


A bomb blast in Adamawa, Abuja and now we are hearing about another one in Lagos on the same day? According to an eyewitness who claimed to have witnessed it and according to a breaking news report on Vanguard, a bomb-laden car went off at Folawiyo Fuel Depot close to a Petrol Tank Farm at Creek Road, Apapa, Lagos around 8.30 yesterday evening. The eye-witness said the explosion came from a Benz car parked right beside a LPG tanker

UPDATE on Emab Plaza Bombing In Abuja, 21 Confirmed Dead, 17 injured

The Nigeria Police Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, has confirmed that 21 people died yesterday afternoon when a bomb went off at the very busy Emab Plaza in Wuse 2, Abuja. He also confirmed that 17 people were seriously injured and have been taken to Maitama District Hospital, Gwarimpa hospital, Wuse hospital, Garki hospital and National hospital.

NDLEA arrests 11 School Children Over Drug Abuse and trafficking

Man Detained in Mental Institute in Kano For Saying There is no God


Mubarak Bala has been held up at a mental institute in Kano state since June 13th despite being given a clean bill of health because he declared he does not believe in God.

According to the International Humanist and Ethical Union (IHEU) Bala is being held against his will and forcibly medicated at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, where he has been kept since June 13.
The chemical engineering graduate is allegedly being held on the grounds of a “personality change” because he declared himself an atheist despite being raised in a Muslim family in Kano, which is a mainly Muslim state.
