Ogboni chieftain cautions Jonathan

Paramount head of Ogboni Saala Fellowship Worldwide, Oba Olaniyi Ifayemi, has cautioned President Goodluck Jonathan not to betray the support given to him by Nigerians, who voted him into office.
Saala in a statement, noted that the ongoing fuel subsidy crisis was enough for the government to realise that Nigerians were not happy with what is happening and challenged the government to have a rethink over the increase in the pump price of petrol.
He said: “There is no reason for the government to remove the subsidy. Fuel is already too expensive, considering that we are an oil producing nation. They should therefore reverse the removal with immediate effect.”
On the threat posed on the terrorists attack on innocent Nigerians by Boko Haram sect, he said they were tool in the hands of some political leaders and if their activities wre not curtailed, it could metamorphose into full religious war between Christians and Muslims in the country.
Ifayemi noted that the neglect of three institutions, the Nigerian Police Force, the teaching service and Traditional Worshipers were the major reasons for the unrest in the country. According to him, “the Policemen stake their lives to safeguard the lives of other Nigerians, yet they are not adequately taken care of. Teachers’ rewards are said to be in heaven while their products (students) reap theirs on earth.
Traditional worshipers do make appeals to the oracles for peace in the country but are sidelined from other religions, such as Christianity and Islam.”
