Former Oyo State governor, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, has said he did not indicate interest in contesting the Oyo North Senatorial election on the platform of Accord Party. Alao-Akala, who spoke through the state PDP Deputy Chairman, Mr. Tunde Oloyede, said in Ogbomoso that the story was the figment of the imagination of the publishers of the story.
Reports say that some media outfits had claimed that Alao-Akala confided in former Governor Rasheed Ladoja that he would contest the senatorial seat in 2015.
The media outfits also alleged that Alao-Akala told Ladoja that he would contest on the platform of the Accord Party should his bid for the ticket in the PDP fail.
But Alao-Akala said that the report was contrary to what transpired between the two former governors.
He admitted meeting Ladoja in London, but said the forum was on moving the PDP forward by resolving the differences threatening the structure of the party in the state.
Alao-Akala said the issue of contesting elections in 2015 was not discussed, adding that he was committed to the total reorganisation of the party structure
He urged party members interested in contesting elective office to first work on how to settle the crisis in the state PDP before vying for public offices.
