Kogi Statesman Contracts Friends To Cut Off 17 Yr Old Girlfriend’s Head For Rituals

Barely two months after he was declared winner of the recently conducted LG election in Kogi State as a Councillor, Yahaya Isah allegedly asked three of his friends, Suleiman Yunusa (35) Isiaka Yunusa(23) and Alifa Maha (17) to bring the head of his girlfriend, 17-year-old Igbere Ogbadu.

According to Nigerian Tribune, Ogbadu’s head was for money-making rituals.

The men got the fresh head of Ogbadu but were all arrested by the Kogi Police Command when Ogbadu’s parent raised the alarm that their girl could not be found. The decomposing, headless body of the girl was later found between Achigili and Ofoja village in Ofu LGA.

The leader of the three-man gang told Nigerian Tribune that,“it was the Councillor that sent us to bring the head of the girl but did not tell us what he was going to do with it”.

Explaining how they perpetrated the dastardly act, he said: The girl was too close to the Councillor as he always beckoned to her anytime she passes in front of his house. He directed us to go and do it. I went to her house to pick her without knowing that people were watching me when we were leaving. I carried her on my motorcycle and headed for Ofoja village. However between Achigili and Ochoja villages, we strangulated her to death.

Three of us did it. After the strangulation I broughtout a very sharp knife with which l cut off her head. She struggled with us but unfortunately for her we overpowered her.
The man at the centre of the whole saga, Hon Yahaya Isah, however denied it saying,”how would l have asked those boys to go and cut the head of the girl for me? What am l going to do with it as a councillor? I never did it”.

Parading the suspects, the State Commissioner of Police, Hilary Opara told newsmen that they would soon be arraigned in court.
