THE wrecked and blood-spattered bonnet of a parked car marks the spot where a man’s 14th-floor plunge came to an abrupt end.
The 28-year-old was lucky to have a cushioned fall when he plummeted almost 50 feet off a block of flats.
Instead of a concrete pavement he smashed into the metal bonnet of a Honda Civic – which probably saved his life.
A loud bang was heard by residents at around 1pm on the street in the Portuguese town of Quarteira.
Paramedics rushed to the scene to treat the man who witnesses said was conscious and talking.
His blood can be seen smeared across the back of the car and dripping off the bumper.
He was taken to a local hospital in Faro with an open facture to his foot where his condition was stable.
Police said they are investigating the incident but are not looking for any suspects.
