Vodka is one of the most versatile spirits, as it is widely used in different cocktails as well as cooking. We can't get enough of the creative vodka sauces we put on our pasta, and who can turn down a good vodka and tonic? But apparently, we should also be adding a little vodka to our shampoo bottles tomorrow morning, as the spirit is high in alcohol content and can be used to reduce residue in hair follicles as well as stimulate hair growth. There might be some more benefits, too, including the reduction of dandruff!
But if you don't want to lather yourself with the pungent spirit, you might be interested to know that having vodka at the beach is also invaluable. Vodka can help heal jellyfish stings and can also be used as a nontoxic bug repellent. The Mayo Clinic even noted that poison ivy rashes are caused by an alcohol-soluble resin called urushiol, and even dabbing a little bit of vodka on a fresh poison ivy outbreak will help to soothe the itching.
We can't get over these life-changing ways we can use one of our favorite spirits. Cocktails and vodka sauce be damned - we might just have to buy a few bottles of the clear booze and store them in our utility closet!

3) Freshen Your Laundry with Vodka
Vodka disinfects and doesn't leave an odor. Spraying vodka on clothing and hanging it in the open air is a quick fix when you don't have time to do a whole load of laundry.
4) Repel Insects Using Vodka
Vodka that is not flavored or sugar-based is a great way to repel insects when it's added to a spray bottle with plants like aloe vera, basil, and lavender. This is also nontoxic, so applying it to dogs and children is safe!
5) Clean Your Bathroom Mold Using Vodka
If you spray vodka on your caulking or larger areas of mold, the alcohol in the vodka will loosen the spores and allow you to clean the mold away easily!
