The state Commander of the Agency, Mr Frank Hanacho, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Yenagoa that the suspects were both men and women.
The commander warned women, especially nursing mothers, against illicit drug business and the consumption.
He decried the growing effect of the business and the intake among women, saying that the agency was ready to tackle the menace.
“Substance abuse is a common medical condition that can have devastating physical and emotional consequences for women and their children.
“Even nursing mothers have also swooped on the illicit drug business and the intake; NDLEA will prosecute any woman engaging in illicit drug business in this state.
“Illicit drug business has multiplied and is affecting every nook and cranny; it is even more worrisome with the involvement of women in the business.
“The people are not restricting it to their business environment alone, but also in residential buildings.
“Landlords should always screen tenants in their houses to ensure that they are free from drug related offences,’’ he said.
“Do not engage in drug business; get away from everything criminal; drug trafficking is a criminal act because a dealer is a merchant of death,” Hanacho said.
