Nigeria's Senate on Tuesday approved seven candidates put forward by President Goodluck Jonathan for his new cabinet, including the outgoing oil minister Diezani Alison-Madueke.
The seven confirmed also included the former minister in charge of the oil-producing Niger Delta region Godsday Orubebe. These nominees can now be sworn in by the President.
Jonathan submitted a list of 34 names on Tuesday and the Senate will continue screening the other candidates this week.
