Prospective Batch ‘B’ corps members who are proposing to relocate their service to Lagos, Ogun, Rivers states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) should have a rethink as these states can no longer accommodate any of them. They are already saturated.
However Ekiti, Osun, Oyo, Kogi, Kwara, Benue, Bayelsa, Cross River and other states can still accommodate more.
Consequently, prospective corps members that are willing to relocate would be given the opportunity to obtain the relocation form while none would be denied the opportunity of relocating.
The spokesperson of NYSC, Mrs Abosede Aderibigbe, disclosed this to the Nigerian Tribune in Abuja on Monday.
She said the redeployment exercise was in progress, adding that many of the corps members would get their redeployment letters by 3p.m. on Monday (yesterday).
While disclosing that the process was a little bit long, Aderibigbe said, “you need to come and fill the form at the headquarters here in Abuja or at the orientation camps. It would be processed by entering it into the computer before it is printed out. This is done outside the premises as it is treated as a sensitive document.
“This is the reason it is taking some time.”
It will be recalled that the management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) had directed all 2012 Batch ‘B’ prospective corps members deployed to Bauchi, Gombe, Plateau, Kano, Yobe and Kaduna states who have collected their call-up letters but are yet to report in camp to immediately report at the NYSC Directorate Headquarters, Abuja for redeployment.
