Mourinho Again Enigmatic On Future At Event In Hometown

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho on Saturday again fuelled speculation over his future when he spoke in an act in his honour held in the Portuguese city of Setubal. The exhibition in Mourinho's hometown, was to celebrate his 50th birthday, which was two months ago and highlighted all of the trophies the coach has won with Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan and Real Madrid.
Madrid are still in the battle for the Champions League and have an accessible draw in the last eight against Turkish side Galatasaray, but Mourinho insisted success in Europe is never easy.

``It is not easy to win two Champions League titles,’’ he said in reference to those he won with Porto and Inter Milan.

``There are many coaches who have never won one,’’ he continued, saying it wouldn't be a `drama,’’ if Madrid failed to win this year.

Mourinho has a contract with Real Madrid until 2016, but after a complicated season in which they trailed FC Barcelona by 13 points, there have been rumours of poor relationships with some players in the Madrid dressing room and he is expected to leave the club this summer.

The 50-year-old did little to calm that speculation with his words in his hometown.

``Everyone knows I have an adventurous spirit. It is not easy for my family, but we will see what happens,’’ he said.

Mourinho then said what some may take as a hint he is preparing to return to work in England or even in Italy.

``After working in England, Portugal, Italy and Spain, it is not easy to then try a new destination. It could be that I repeat my destination,’’ he commented, with words which could move out a move to Paris Saint Germain, another club he has been strongly linked with in recent weeks.

``There are things that could be on the point of happening that nobody could imagine," said the coach, who was at his enigmatic best.

``However, wherever his next destination is, Mourinho, who said how comfortable he felt to be back in the town where he was born, admitted that one day he would like to return to work in his native land as national team coach.

``I would like to win something with Portugal one day. It won't be easy, because there are few Portuguese internationals who play in the Portuguese league," he said.
