A university journalism lecturer has been shot dead at his home in Maiduguri in northern Nigeria, officials say.
Eyewitnesses said Malam Murtala Mohammed was shot at his home by a group of teenagers who appeared to have followed him home, the News Agency of Nigeria reported Monday.Mohammed was a lecturer in the Mass Communications Department at the University of Maiduguri,
A neighbor said the victim had just finished prayers at his home across from the university when he was shot at close range Sunday.
