24 dead following ethnic violence in Northern Nigeria

At least 24 people have been killed in ethnic violence in Wukari, a rural town situated in Nigeria's Taraba state. A state health official said yesterday that other people were also injured in the violence that was sparked during a funeral service that pitted the Jukun people against the Hausa Fulani. A similar round of violence in February in the town killed more than 20 people. Nigeria is home to more than 160 million people and the country has more than 250 different ethnicities.
