Reports say the lady-victim identified as Stella (surname withheld) the owner of the bag was said to have boarded a commercial taxi with registration number AA-234XX from her house to her grand mother’s place during which the unsuspecting hoodlums joined her in the same car.
Expectedly, the hoodlums midway in a commando style, ordered the driver and the Lady into one of the roads where under gruesome act and gun point, took the bag from her and shot the driver on the spot who was said to have screamed that he knew one of them.
Narrating her ordeal, the lady said: “I was going to my grandmother’s house around the market area when I took a taxi car to the direction, but as we were approaching the house the driver took the hoodlums who claimed to have been going the same direction with me only for them to order the driver to a bush path where they snatched my bags from me containing my pants I was going to wash in the house”.
LEADERSHIPFRIDAY checks revealed that Ibusa, Asaba had remained hot-spots for bag snatchers including pick pockets that also pull guns.
But the Police Spokesman in the state Asp, Famous Ajieh confirmed that secondary school dropouts in Asaba and its environs constituted themselves into pick pocketing menace adding that several of them have been arrested.
