RIVERS State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, has said he has no intention to leave the Peoples Democratic Party. Amaechi, who spoke in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. David Iyofor, on Thursday explained that contrary to the comments by the State Publicity Secretary of the Action Congress of Nigeria, Mr. Jerry Needam, he was still in the ruling party.
The governor dismissed claims that he had approached the ACN as outright lies and a figment of the imagination of the opposition party’s spokesman.
Needam had, in a statement in Port Harcourt, said the ACN had nominated two members of the party in the state to discuss on the possibility of accepting Amaechi as a member.
But Amaechi insisted that he was already fighting his suspension from the PDP in court, adding that he had never met with anybody to discuss a movement from the ruling party to the ACN or PDP.A
