Fuji exponent, Wasiu Alabi Odetola, better known as Pasuma Wonder, has denied killing a boy in a hit and run accident.
Speaking through his manager, Afolabi Oyekoya, Pasuma said there is no truth in the allegation while condemning the stories on the Internet that the his convoy hit a young boy.
According to the stories, one of the convoys of the fuji star ran over a teenage fan after Pasuma’s vehicle had knocked down the victim on their way back from a show at Idimu-Council area of Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State.
The victim, simply known as Bidemi, a 12-year old and fan of the singer, was said to have been lurking around to get a glimpse of the star as he was leaving the St. Augustine Events Hall, Isheri-Idimu, venue of the said show.
However, Oyekoya said it was saddening that some people would peddle such ‘heavy rumours’ in order to drag somebody’s name to the mud.
“In fact, I don’t even want to talk about this. It is simply sad that one’s image would be spoilt just like this. If Pasuma had killed anybody, don’t you think he should have been in the police custody by now? Pasuma wasn’t invited by the police. Nobody arrested him. Nobody invited him for questioning. So how would anybody just come out and say that Pasuma killed somebody?”
Oyekoya admitted that a young boy was killed but he insisted that it wasn’t Pasuma’s vehicle that knocked him down.
Earlier on, a source who had claimed he was an eyewitness, blamed the police for the accident.
“We went for a show at Idimu. After the show, a crowd of area boys came to meet us and as usual, Pasuma gave them N100, 000. Anytime he goes for shows like that, he normally asks for the leader of the boys in the area and he gives them N100, 000. After he gave them the money, he drove off but there was a police patrol vehicle behind us.
“Probably, when the police saw the crowd, they must have thought something dangerous was happening. It must have been the police’s van that killed the young boy and they even seized the corpse. The family of the boy had to pay before the corpse was released. It has nothing to do with Paso,” the source said.
Meanwhile, when Saturday Beats called the police public relations officer, Ngozi Braide concerning the allegation, her phone was switched off. She didn’t reply the text message sent to her.
