Badass Pregnant Woman Gives Birth Hours After Chasing Down a Mugger

Flint, Michigan, resident Kristen Thompson went to the grocery store to pick up a few things before her planned C-section for the baby she was having the next day when she was mugged by a stranger [via ABC12].

"I was putting the groceries inside the car and he just came out of nowhere and snatched my purse," Thompson said. As soon as she was attacked by this nightmare of a person, Thompson, who has two other children, said she didn't think twice about going after him. "My purse is my life. It has everything and anything that you can need, possible. Comes down to bills, the kids' insurance cards," she said. Despite being nine months pregnant, she found out she was faster than her attacker, which worked to her benefit until the man knocked her down.

With the help of bystanders, Kristen actually got her purse back and her brother restrained the attacker, Mark Newton, until police arrived. Police took him the man to jail and Kristen went to go have her baby.

"Sent me right into labor. Soon as I got up, I was having contractions. His name is Joseph Alan Alexander-Thompson. He weighs 7 lbs, 7 oz," Thompson said of the baby who was born just five hours after she was mugged. "In the hospital, all the nurses loved him 'cause he was the cutest baby on the floor."

And if she's not already the coolest woman you've ever heard of, she says that while they were waiting for the police to arrive, she asked Newton why the hell he attacked a pregnant woman.
"He had nothing to say," Thompson said.
