FORMER vice-president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has enjoined Nigerians not to rely on good luck but hard work, fervent prayers and perseverance, to overcome the ongoing security and political challenges bedevilling the nation, adding that though there are challenges, the citizenry must “stay the course.”
Abubakar, speaking as a special guest of honour at the 13th graduation ceremony of El-Amin International School, Minna, Niger State and the launch of the school’s 2012 year book, in his address, on Saturday, noted that as a young man during his formative years, both at the primary and secondary schools in his home state of Adamawa, he had never relied only on “good luck,” but had to work extra hard and persevere to overcome academic challenges.
El-Amin International School was owned by the deceased former first lady, Mrs Maryam Babangida.
The former vice-president said “your graduation from this great institution today marks the beginning of a more challenging phase in your life’s journey.”
