Emir Returns To Kano After Treatment Abroad

The Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero on Wednesday returned to the ancient city of Kano from London aboard a Presidential jet.

The Air Force Jet touched down at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport at about 6.50pm into the waiting hands of a crowd that consisted of the state government officials, traditional title holders, businessmen and artisans.

The Emir, looking hale and hearty, acknowledged greetings from well-wishers at the presidential wing of the airport before he and his two sons were conveyed, amid tight security, to his palace.

The emir was flown abroad for medical treatment along with his sons, Sanusi Ado Bayero and Aminu Ado Bayero , on 21 January, following an attack on his convoy, in which his driver and three royal guards were killed.
