The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) has said that the desperation of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to retain power at all cost, by trying to scuttle registration of All Progressives Congress (APC) poses a clear danger to Nigeria's democracy.
The concern by ACN came on the heels of the call by the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties {CNPP} on the Inspector General of the Police to as a matter of urgent national importance to investigate the alleged linkage between the Peoples Democratic Party {PDP} and the African Peoples Congress.
In a statement issued on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said recent revelations have shown PDP's glaring involvement in the ongoing efforts to sabotage the merger of the progressives.
The party called all lovers of democracy within and outside Nigeria to join in the efforts to stop the PDP and its cohorts from truncating the nation's democracy.
