Trailer Kills 2, Injures 4 In Suleja



Two persons have been confirmed dead and four seriously injured in an auto crash involving a fully loaded trailer and a stationary bus at Suleja old garage in Niger State. The trailer with registration number XG254KNC had a failed break from Suleja General Hospital and was controlled into the old garage where it ran into a stationary bus with registration number LLD386SD.

The accident which occurred at about 9:50 am yesterday also led to the destruction of properties worth millions of Naira.

It was gathered that the body of the deceased, all men, were deposited at Suleja General Hospital while the injured have been admitted at the emergency ward of the same hospital receiving treatment.

The unit commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission ( FRSC) Suleja unit command, Edwin Chukwuemeka Nwokike confirmed to LEADERSHIP that the accident occurred as a result of break failure.

He said that two persons whose identities were yet to be known died in the accident while four other persons were seriously injured and was taken by his men to Suleja General Hospital where they are receiving treatment.

According to him, “the accident is precariously situated, we got a toeing truck from Abuja and toed the truck to Suleja Police Station because it has enough space for parking, we cannot immediately identify the men but all the victims are men, no woman among the victims.”
