National Assembly Rejects Posting Of NYSC Corps Members To The North

The National Assembly yesterday joined the protest against the posting of NYSC corps members to the troubled North. The Chairman, Committee on Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Wahab Alawiye-King stated that the house had passed a missive to the Director General of NYSC advocating for withdrawal of corps members posted to the North. According to him, the safety of lives and property cannot be guaranteed in that region of the country. he stated that the North has been plagued by violence and mayhem and that the government would resist the posting of any corps member to that region. yesterday, graduates from the Lagos state University, LASU surrounded the assembly with placards that stated “ ‘LASU says no to posting to the North, and ‘No service in Boko Haram States’, and others.
