A middle-aged man, Kudaisi Kamoru and his son, Sulaimon, have been arraigned before an Abeokuta magistrate court for accusing two officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) of kidnap attempt. The accused were arraigned by the state police command for allegedlly beating one Tijani Rasaq and Ibironke Mustapha in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital last month.
According the court charge, the accused were said to have committed breach of peace in the state, malicious damage, unlawful assault, willful and unlawful damage of Buba and Sokoto of Tijani Rasaq, valued at N10,000 and accusing them of being kidnappers.

Counsel for the accused, Dr Femi Jolaosho, indicted the police of conspiracy with the LASTMA officials to intimidate his client.
He said his client had sued the LASTMA and two others for damages and causing permanent impairment of his left leg in the tune of N50 million.
Jolaosho added that LASTMA, the Lagos State Attorney-General and the state Commissioner for Works were also joined in the suit.
Magistrate Idowu Olayinka granted the accused bail in the sum of N150,000, with one surety, who must be a resident of Ogun State and has evidence of payment of tax.
The case was adjourned till April 22.
