THE dad of Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has been arrested on suspicion of rape, it emerged yesterday. Maciej Szczesny, 48, was quizzed for two days after a 30-year-old woman made allegations to police.
The goalkeeping coach and former player was held in Wolominie, Poland, where a police spokesman said: “The allegations will be carefully scrutinised.”
Szczesny Snr was a top Polish goalkeeper and the only player to win the national championship with four different clubs.
Premier League star Wojciech, 23 — also a Polish international — was last night unavailable for comment.
