CHAMPAGNE, luxury toiletries and a reclining chair for daddy — just some of the extras in the plush maternity unit where Kate Middleton will give birth.
The Duchess of Cambridge will be cared for at the internationally renowned Lindo Wing and when the baby is born, top chefs will be on hand to whip up whatever Kate and Prince William fancy to eat.
The baby is due any day now and the cost of a suite at the unit — attached to St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, central London — is £6,265 for a one-night stay with no complications and £2,200 for each extra night.
Royal welcome ... Prince William and Kate Middleton
Based on a trouble-free three-night stay, Kate’s bill will top £10,000 — and it is possible she and Wills have booked more than one suite.
All rooms have satellite TV, wi-fi, radio and a safe. The wing also offers a “comprehensive wine list” and bottles can be chilled in the suite’s fridge.
A fresh bouquet of flowers are delivered every day and blackout curtains ensure total privacy.

Gynaecologists, paediatricians, midwives, nurses, breast-feeding consultants and nursery nurses are all on hand. If anything goes wrong, Kate can be whisked to the wealth of medical expertise next-door at St Mary’s. The Lindo Wing opened in 1937 and Princess Diana gave birth there to Prince William in 1982 and Prince Harry in 1984.
Zara Phillips — who announced her own pregnancy this week — was born there in 1981, while TV beauty Myleene Klass and Gavin & Stacey’s Joanna Page have also had children there.
Here we speak to two other women who have given birth on The Lindo Wing and below look at Kate’s medical team.
