Vigilante Group kills Two Fulani Herdsmen In Niger


A Vigilante Group has killed Two Fulani herdsmen in Lapai, headquarters’ of Lapai local government area of Niger State over a disagreement between the Fulani men and a photographer in the area.

LEADESRSHIP Sunday gathered that the incident occurred Friday evening when there was a disagreement between a photographer and a Fulani man over terms of agreement in engaging the photographer to take a snap shot.


It was learnt that the Fulani man was not happy with the work the photographer did for him and requested for a repeat of the work which the photographer turned down.

Irked by the position of the photographer it was gathered that the Fulani man with the help of his other colleagues seized the bag of the photographer and headed towards their settlement in the Suburb of Lapai town through a foot path.

The photographers, it was learnt, reported the case to the vigilante men in the area and the men pursued the Fulani men through the foot path in the bush after Lapai.

It was learnt that the Fulani men resisted the intervention of the vigilante group leading to the vigilante men shooting three of the Fulani men and leaving two of the Herdsmen dead.

Confirming to LEADERSHIP Sunday yesterday in Minna, the Spokesman of the Niger State Police command, Richard Adamu Oguche, stated that a body was found in the bush after the incident while one of the three persons shot, died yesterday morning on the way to the hospital.

Oguche stated that four persons have been arrested in connection with the incident while the case has been transferred to the state criminal investigation department for further investigation.
