The petitioner, who lives at 5, Adewumi St., Agege, told the court that his wife, Hannah, once left him for four years and returned after she had two kids for another man.
“She nags a lot and fights me when we have any slight argument; sometimes, she will lock the door and wouldn’t allow me to go out.
“A week ago, when I was receiving a call, my wife came in and said it was a woman I was calling; she didn’t allow me to talk before she started throwing chairs at me,” he said.
The father of four said that his wife used a stick to hit him on the head, which led them to the police station.
“My wife is not at peace with the child another woman had for me, she often calls the child a bastard, which I am not pleased with.
“I am tired of the marriage, I want a divorce,” he pleaded.
Responding, Hannah said that the allegations her husband levelled against her were false.
She, however, told the court that she was in another relationship when her parents forced her to marry Adenekan.
“I am tired of the marriage as well; I went to where my heart belongs when I left him. If he wants dissolution, I am in support,” she said.
The Court President, Mr Philips Owolabi, asked them to maintain the peace and adjourned the case till April 10, for further hearing.
