Manchester City hope to finalise terms with Arsenal's Bacary Sagna following the FA Cup final.
The right-back has been involved in a long running contract dispute with the club over his £100,000-a-week wage demands.
The Gunners board have now informed Sagna that they are unwilling to meet his demands, effectively bringing the curtain down on his Arsenal career.
Sagna has been a regular at right back this season and Arsene Wenger looks set to play Sagna in Saturday's FA Cup final against Hull City.

He said: 'I told you many times, for me a professional is to give your best until the last day of your contract. 'That's for me the real professional. I don't doubt their integrity, their desire to win and their commitment at all,' he said.
