Policeman Electrocution: Ogun Gives N.5m For Burial


The Ogun State Government yesterday in Abeokuta gave the sum of five hundred thousand naira (N500, 000) to the family of Mr. Sunday Joseph to help defray his burial expenses. Sunday Joseph, a police corporal was electrocuted last Sunday at Isale Igbein, Abeokuta. Handing over the cash to one of the wives of the deceased, Mrs. Martha Joseph at their police barracks residence at Isale Igbein, the Special Adviser to the Governor on General Duties, Mr. Bayo Adeyemi described his demise as unfortunate and shocking.
“The death of these promising men in their prime is no doubt a great loss to you and indeed the Government and the good people of Ogun State. We condole with you on behalf of Mr. Governor and the Government of Ogun State. This money is for their burial arrangement as we pray that the Almighty God grants you the fortitude to bear the great loss. Please don’t despair and be consoled that God will always be with you and all that he left behind”, the Governor’s aide said.
